Football agiators should think twice

Bo Pelini's intensity and fire is more than welcome on the sideline. Away from the field, if his eyes are blazing and his face is matching his new collection of red apparel, you may want to steer clear.
Take a cue from Maurice Purify, Carl Nicks, Ben Martin, Mike V. Smith, Ben Covey and Andy Christensen. Don't be an idiot.
It's going to cost you.
Six current and former Cornhusker football players have found their way into the news and poor graces of Pelini and the football program, and all six are facing the consequences in a wide variety of ways.
Christensen, as you probably all know, is by far in the most serious trouble, so much so that it's not even fun to take a crack at. If the sexual assault allegations against Christensen are true - and keep in mind they're only accusations - the would-be senior lineman may never don a Husker uni again. He could easily be sporting a state-issued jumper.
In fairness to the circumstances, athletes have been targeted in sexual assault cases before, and the most high-profile of them have turned out to be enormous lies. We'll wait and see what happens to Christensen. If he's guilty, don't expect to see him on campus anytime soon.
Regardless of his guilt or innocence in the sexual assault case, Christensen hasn't done himself any favors by acting like a bull with cops. How many cops did it take to wrangle him? I keep hearing different numbers, but the fact that it was more than one doesn't bode well for him.
Supposedly he was also kicking at cops and dented a police cruiser, which had to be a pathetic sight to see. Luckily, the O Street crowds weren't around when he got strapped down in the county jail due to his uncontrollable behavior.
Christensen's story is a sad one regardless of what comes of the allegations. His reputation is ruined either way. Now he'll sit in county jail and wait for everything to play out.
Now, for the most primo example of stupidity I've ever seen, I now turn to Purify.

I would contend that behavior like these bozos is a reflection of the Previous leadership at UNL Football Program. Or should I say WHAT leadership.
High powered student athletes follow by example of their leaders. (Continued…)
