Impeachment usually falls through

To Mr. Gary Brakhage: As for “big business” taking over, Russell Stover Candies, Ace Hardware, and Foote Davis are all quite large companies, as I have heard and consume their products in my home state of Iowa. And if they left Lincoln, then it seems that big business is leaving as well.

Nebraska’s elected officials including your Governor, Dave Heineman, and Lincoln City Mayor Chris Beutler are not responsible for companies leaving the Lincoln area. Mayorial and gubernatorial races are open to the public to enter. If you believe so strongly, you should enter one of these races. Governors and mayors do things that not all of their constituents always agree with, and because of this there was a system put in place that you brought up: impeachment. An impeachment takes a massive amount of public support and usually loses it due to the process’ cost and length. So your push for impeachment is going to end quickly.

Your voice is heard, you are being represented, and that is why you have elected officials. These officials help to run the government that oversees, in this case, the local economy. They generally go with and support the MAJORITY of their constituents’ opinions, i.e. what most of constituents agree on. Everybody must remember they have an opinion and it is heard, but it is not necessarily the majority opinion.
