“As I told the team before we came in here, you can’t get into a scoring match with Kansas. If they’re going to score in the 80s, you’re not going to win many games, and that’s ultimately what happened.”

Nebraska men’s basketball coach Doc Sadler comments on Nebraska’s 84-72 loss to No. 3 Kansas.

“We want people to see films they haven’t, films that hold up over time.”

Associate director of library archives Andrea Faling explains the goals for the Nebraska State Historial Society’s 23rd annual film series, which begins this Sunday.

There’s never anything different about First Fridays. It’s always: Go to Tugboat, look at the knickknacks in Aorta, then start floating. There’s always a room with weird stuff, making it a fun one to hit up first. The floor is sometimes made of grass, or there are pictures of Greek orgies in electric frames. But the experience is always the same in this room. It’s an “Ohh, ahhh… neat.” Then I move on to see some supposedly deep-messaged photo of an egg, and sweet, pop-arty statement paintings. Somehow I always wind up in the jewelry corner and have to fight the sea of plaid-shirted patrons to get outside for a cigarette.

DN columnist Nate Ruleaux laments the lack of social life the weekend before classes resume.

“Originally, it was just going to be myself. But as I thought about it more, if I found someplace cool, I’d want to stay there longer. So I came up with the idea of renting a travel trailer and I recruited (photography students) and they came along.”

UNL associate professor Bruce Thorson explains the beginnings of the “Searching for the Real Nebraska” photo project, which is now on display at the Great Plains Museum through Feb. 28.

“All too often, students are forced to spend unnecessary money to stay in school longer because they are bottlenecked out of required classes by inefficient registration practices.”

N VISION presidential candidate Justin Solomon explains one aspect of the party’s platform for the upcoming ASUN elections.

“Everyone made big plays down the stretch. I think that was what was key to this win. It wasn’t just one play. It was a bunch of plays strung together.”

Nebraska women’s basketball center Kelsey Griffin comments on the no. 11 Huskers’ 91-79 win over no. 19 Texas.
